Historically, Inova’s team members have continued to provide optimal patient care during blizzards, flu outbreaks, and hurricanes.
- Is led by the Assistant Vice President of System Security Services and Emergency Management. Inova has a dedicated team of individuals who lead Inova’s emergency management prevention, preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities. The Team’s diverse experience comes from healthcare, fire and emergency services, law enforcement, security, military, and higher education industries.
- Has real-world experience responding to active shooter incidents, blizzards, earthquakes, Ebola, floods, hazardous materials, hurricanes, tornadoes, utility disruptions, etc.
- Holds an organizational membership with The Association of Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Professionals (AHEPP)
- Is a member of the Northern Virginia Hospital Alliance (NVHA), a not-for-profit coalition formed in 2002 to organize a regional hospital preparedness program that would enable the hospitals of Northern Virginia to collectively respond to and recover from major emergencies. The membership includes all 17 acute care hospitals that operate within the Virginia portion of the National Capital Region.
