APP Fellowships at Inova
Over 45,000 APPs enter the workforce each year upon graduation. As care complexity has evolved, postgraduate clinical training programs have responded, growing in popularity across the United States to better support APPs transitioning into their first roles. The first PA fellowship was developed in New York in the 1970s; now, multiple specialties exist among hundreds of programs.
In 2021, Inova launched its first postgraduate clinical training program for APPs in critical care. Subsequently, a program for APPs in neurosurgery went live. More to come on Inova’s behavioral health fellowship as well as others.
