Holiday hours

With the exception of Inova hospitals and Inova Emergency Care, all Inova outpatient offices will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday, Thursday, Nov. 27.

Some locations, including Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care, have additional changes to their standard hours and can be viewed here. Please contact the location for more information.

Prerequisites

Applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Be eligible to work in the United States
  • Pass basic math and English proficiency exams prior to beginning the program
  • Pay the initial pharmacy technician trainee licensing fee to the Virginia Board of Pharmacy
     

Financial requirements

  • Accepted applicants must pay the initial pharmacy technician trainee licensing fee to the Virginia Board of Pharmacy prior to beginning the program. View current fees
  • Participants must pay for the national certification exam registration fee. This fee is reimbursed for participants who choose to pursue a career with Inova as a pharmacy technician after successfully passing their exam on their first attempt.
  • All pharmacy technicians within Virginia are expected to maintain their licensure. Nationally certified pharmacy technicians must maintain their certification. For more information about continuing education and licensure, please visit the accrediting agencies’ websites
