Not only will you have access to world-class facilities and physicians, you'll be joining a team committed to optimizing each participant's academic and social experience.
Under the direction of James W. Leiphart, MD, PhD, Neurosurgeon, our program will provide our students with an outstanding variety of neurosurgical procedures, technologies, and innovation.
This is a comprehensive, seven-year program, fully accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), which provides each resident with thorough grounding in Neurological Surgery as a clinical, surgical, and research discipline. We look forward to sharing with our residents the exciting, life-changing work we do every day in the field of neurosurgery.

The 2-day joint surgical specialty intern bootcamp at Inova Fairfax Hospital brings together new residents in general surgery, neurosurgery, obstetrics/gynecology, and podiatry. Procedural residents meet the faculty, see them modeling teamwork, and develop good relationships with all members of the care team. After bootcamp, Inova's surgical interns feel both competent and confident to hit the ground running on day one of their residency.
