The Inova-GWU Psychosomatic Medicine Fellowship is based at Inova Fairfax Hospital, an 833-bed tertiary care teaching hospital in Falls Church, VA, just a few miles from Washington, DC.
The hospital is a leader in transplant medicine with active cardiac, pulmonary, and renal transplant services. Inova Schar Heart and Vascular houses 156 beds as the region's only facility dedicated exclusively to heart and vascular care. Inova Cancer Services is a comprehensive oncology program service and Inova Fairfax Hospital provides the area's only Level 1 Trauma Center. The program is the fifth busiest in the nation. Inova Children's Hospital is the only pediatric hospital serving critically ill children in Northern Virginia.
Inova Fairfax Hospital offers residency training programs in all core specialties and has a full-time staff of more than 150 physicians which complements a large base of community specialists.
The psychiatric faculty at Inova Fairfax Hospital includes five full-time faculty members and several part-time faculty members who have all completed fellowship training in psychosomatic medicine.
