Inova Pride Clinic offers behavioral health services to patients both within the Pride Clinic and not established within the Pride Clinic. Therapy can help individuals who have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder as well as people who are working through a life event or situation. Please contact the clinic at 703-522-1175 for more information about our services.
Therapy Structure
Therapy within the Inova Pride Clinic is time limited although length of treatment may vary according to individual needs. Sessions are between 25-45 minutes. The first appointment is the initial evaluation where it will be determined with clinician and patient best treatment options. Subsequent appointments include treatment planning and process. Practice modalities may include but are not limited to: cognitive behavioral therapy; dialectical behavioral therapy; motivational interviewing; narrative therapy; and solutions-focused therapy.
We currently offer individual and family therapy, with an option in the future for group therapy.
Because we are a time-limited program, we do not offer:
- Couples Therapy
- Medication Management
- ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy) for OCD
- School Refusal/Avoidance/Anxiety Specific Treatment
- Substance Use, Addiction, or Eating Disorder Treatment
Staff
Inova Pride Clinic behavioral health clinicians are either licensed behavioral health therapists or working under the guidance of a licensed behavioral health therapist.
Location
We offer the option of in person office visits and/or telemedicine visits for patients located physically in the state of Virginia. However, for pediatric patients (under the age of 18), the initial evaluation is held in office with guardian/caregiver.
Limitations to Assessments
Our behavioral health services are therapeutic in nature and assessment is limited to an intake/diagnostic evaluation needed for plan of care. Assessments that do not fall under Inova Pride Clinic's scope of services include:
- Court-ordered compliance
- Evidence of disability
- Evaluations for ADHD or ASD
- Court mandated services resulting in the provider testifying on your behalf
- Expert witnesses in court cases
- Impressions for fitness of custody/duty
- Letters for emotional support animals
Outside of the Inova Pride Clinic, Inova has behavioral health services that provide additional levels of support and treatment. For more information, please see: Inova Behavioral Health Services, the Inova Kellar Center, or contact the Inova Behavioral Health Call Center at 571-623-3500.
