Late Arrivals or Missed Appointments

  • If you are unable to keep an appointment, please give the office 24-hour notice, so another patient can be seen.
  • If you are more than 15 minutes late, you may be asked to reschedule. Our physicians do their best to stay on time, and a delay will cause the schedule to back up, impacting other patients, our staff and our physicians. Every effort is made to keep wait time to a minimum.
  • All new patients are scheduled for 30-minute appointments.
  • We encourage all patients to also have a primary care provider.
  • If you are visiting one of our offices for the first time, either as a new patient consultation or as a follow-up appointment after a hospital visit, please bring the following with you:
    • Your imaging (CT scans, X-rays) on a disc in addition to the radiology report. Our physicians need to review the images themselves. If you do not have images for review, you may be asked to reschedule your appointment.
    • Your current health insurance card.
    • A list of your current medications including dosages and refills required.
    • If your insurance requires it, a referral valid for one visit and spirometry testing.
    • Your driver’s license or a current photo ID.
    • Pertinent medical records – please ensure that your referring physician sends over any testing, lab work and office notes and that the records are available before your visit.
  • Your complete pulmonary consultation includes a thorough review of your medical records as well as a direct interpretation of your imaging.
  • If you have had chest X-rays or CT scans performed, these need to be brought to your visit on a disc with the radiology report.
  • All medical records from your referring physician need to be sent to our office one week before your scheduled visit.
  • Your appointment may be rescheduled if complete medical records and imaging are not available at the time of your scheduled appointment.
  • In the event of an emergency, call 911 or go immediately to the emergency room of your nearest hospital.
  • After hours and when the office is closed, call 703-641-8616 or 703-276-1916 and follow the phone tree to access our on-call physician. Please do not hang up without leaving a message including your name, date of birth and phone number where you can be reached. The physician will receive a page – please allow the physician 15 – 20 minutes to return your phone call. If you do not have a touch-tone phone, remain on the line for further instructions.
  • Please do not call after hours for prescription refills, routine medical questions, or appointment rescheduling or cancelation.
  • If you need to reach a physician urgently during business hours, please call the office and speak with our triage coordinator to receive further instructions.
