About Amir S. Butt, MD

Dr. Amir Butt is a specialty care physician board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine at Inova Health System. He joined Inova in 2022 and has been practicing since 2004.

Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Butt worked as consultant in gastroenterology at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Saudi Arabia. His clinical areas of interest include endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, endoscopic ultrasound, colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, bile duct stones, pancreatic cancer, colon cancer screening, and peptic ulcer disease. Dr. Butt enjoys working with the adult patient population. His patient care philosophy is to treat patients as family members, and his goal is to provide the best patient-centered care in a timely manner.

In 2004, Dr. Butt was awarded an award for the best research project in internal medicine by Lutheran Medical Center. In 2004 and 2005, he was awarded the Stroke Center Award for Neuroscience Research by Lutheran Medical Center.

Outside the office, Dr. Butt enjoys playing soccer and cricket.
