About Linda J. Lang, MD

Linda Lang, MD, leads Inova Behavioral Health Services as President of the service line. She joined Inova in 2020.

Dr. Lang has a demonstrated history of working in the healthcare industry as a service-line leader with strengths in strategic planning, program development, staff recruitment, peer review and supervision, standards of care, and clinical management growth that parallel the expansive network of Inova's adult, child and adolescent inpatient and outpatient care.

In addition to administrative psychiatry, she has particular interest in graduate medical education and more than 25 years of experience as a psychiatrist with specialization in women's health, geropsychiatry, integrative medicine and substance use disorders. She is a certified prescriber of suboxone for opioid addiction.

Previously, Dr. Lang was Chairperson of the Department of Psychiatry, Behavioral Health Service Line, at ChristianaCare in Newark, DE. She has also help leadership roles at Princeton Healthcare System, Princeton, NJ and Carrier Clinic, Belle Mead, NJ, among others.

Dr. Lang is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Outstanding Teaching Award from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, the Nurses Choice Award from Jersey Shore University Medical Center, the Torch Award for patient satisfaction from Princeton Healthcare System on multiple occasions and the Meade Johnson Award for Superior Academic Achievement from New York Medical College.

Dr. Lang is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and earned her medical degree from Universidad del Noreste in Tampico, Mexico. She completed her psychiatry residency and internship at New York Medical College, Valhalla, NY, and has one year of clinical work at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Hackensack Medical Center. She earned a bachelor's in sociology from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA.

She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Association of Physician Leadership, the Academy for Eating Disorders and the Academy of Integrative and Holistic Medicine.

She lives in Vienna, VA. Her hobbies include sailing, skiing, hiking and raising her King Charles Spaniels.
