The thought of visiting an ER during this uncertain time might be a little scary. But, delaying the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a potential emergency condition can risk worse clinical outcomes.
Rest assured, Inova Loudoun Hospital has implemented additional procedures to protect the safety of our patients, team members and community.
Here are a few of the safety measures and temporary modifications we’ve made in our ERs:
Emergency Room at Inova Loudoun Hospital (Lansdowne):
If you have a respiratory illness or concern, please visit our ER in Lansdowne. This ER will also continue to see non-respiratory illnesses and injuries.
We’ve temporarily reconfigured our adult and pediatric ERs to separate respiratory patients from those with other complaints. Upon arrival, an outside greeter provides patients with a mask and determines the reason for the visit. Depending on the presence of respiratory symptoms, the patient is escorted to a private, closed-door room in either the respiratory or non-respiratory ER. Pediatric patients are separated from adults on both sides, and are cared for by our pediatric team.
All team members wear, at minimum, a mask for every patient interaction. They also participate in twice daily symptom and temperature checks.
