Breast Cancer Support

A variety of breast cancer support groups, including "Survivors Offering Support" (SOS), a peer mentoring group led by survivors trained to provide knowledge, support and encouragement. 

Offered at Inova Alexandria, Fairfax, Fair Oaks and Loudoun hospitals.

The Life with Cancer® program offers seminars, support groups, individual and family counseling and nursing consultations, to provide assistance in times of crisis, and information about specific cancers.

Epilepsy

Held on the second Tuesday of every month from 7 - 8:30 p.m., our free support group is for adults living with epilepsy, and provides encouragement by helping patients meet others who have overcome challenges like their own. You will find acceptance and comfort from knowing that you are not alone.

HIV/AIDS

Heart / Cardiovascular

Heart & Lung Transplant, VAD/Artificial Heart Support and Education Group

The group meets the first Tuesday of every month from 1 to 2 p.m. via Zoom. Topics include pulmonary and cardiac rehab, post-transplant care, living with a transplant, waiting for a transplant, infectious disease and more.

Limb Loss

The Inova Amputee Support Group is a place for individuals to connect with others who have experienced limb loss. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for people to share personal feelings, coping strategies, or firsthand information about their experience. The group is led by highly trained Inova Social Workers and Physical Therapists who are dedicated to providing education and support to individuals with limb loss.

Attendance to the Inova Amputee Support Group is open to all individuals with upper and/or lower extremity amputation, as well as their family, caregivers, and loved ones. The group gathers once a month and meets at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus (3300 Gallows Road, Falls Church, VA). Participation is free to all who wish to attend.

  • Saturday, Aug 31, 10 a.m.

Meetings are held in the IHVI ground floor conference room - most convenient parking is in the Gray Garage.

New Moms

Talk about the challenges and joys of being a new mother. Facilitated by an experienced maternal-infant health educator. There is also a support group for new mothers returning to work.

Trauma Talk is a monthly group that provides a place for trauma survivors to connect with each other and offer support in recovery. Hosted by the Trauma Survivors Network (TSN), this group is open to survivors, caregivers, and family members.

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus
TBI Group is open to TBI survivors, caregivers, and family members. This monthly group shares education, resources, and coping skills with those affected by traumatic brain injuries. TBI Group is co-facilitated by the Trauma Survivors Network (TSN) and Brain Injury Services (BIS).
