The Inova Critical Care Service is proud to play a key role in helping the next generation of pulmonary and critical care physician experts develop their skills. We combine an excellent grounding in pulmonary and critical care medicine with the ability to individualize each fellow’s course of study according to individual interests and aptitudes.

Applications are due by May 1 of the academic year, with a start date of Oct. 1. The fellow will be fully credentialed through Inova and receive a competitive fellowship salary. The fellow will be offered full employee benefits to include health insurance, CME allowance and paid time off.

Our health system serves a highly diverse patient population, and our fellows gain experience across the full range of critical care conditions, from the most common to the rarest. Inova’s outstanding programs in heart and vascular, neuroscience, trauma, and transplant, among many others, gives our physicians experience across a variety of clinical critical care settings. We bring together the latest, evidence-based principles of critical care medicine, supported by advanced technology, a team approach, and a robust research enterprise.

The Inova Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fellowship offers invaluable critical care experience through a 12-month post-graduate fellowship program with the critical care service at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus.

The fellow will have a structured rotation through the MSICU, NSICU, CICU, CVICU/ECMO, STICU, CV surgery, palliative care, infectious disease and renal services. In addition to a high volume of bedside procedures, the fellow will also have access to, and training in, our simulation lab to ensure procedural competency.
