Scott Ackerman

Scott Ackerman

Scott Ackerman is proud to join the amazing team at Inova Well as an exercise specialist. Scott has spent his entire career along the continuum of fitness, wellness and human performance. A graduate of Penn State University with a degree in exercise and sport science, he was an invited walk-on to the Penn State wrestling team and was also an undergraduate assistant for the Penn State Football strength and conditioning program.

Scott went on to work as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Washington Commanders for seven years, then later with the Washington Nationals during spring training for five years. Scott also owned and operated two midsize health and fitness centers in Fairfax and Loudoun counties. More recently, he has been the Director of Driver Science for Wayne Taylor Racing in the IMSA Sports Car Racing Series and the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Series, while providing physiological monitoring and performance training programs for drivers in NASCAR, IndyCar and Formula 1.

Beyond regular workouts, Scott enjoys training for triathlons of all distances to stay fit. During down time, you can often find Scott at Lake Anna where he loves to slalom waterski, wakeboard and just be on the water with friends and family.

Laura East

Laura East

Laura East is an experienced certified personal trainer, a C-IAYT yoga therapist and a multitalented group fitness instructor. She is a former Virginia state gymnastics champion and has been teaching for more than 19 years. 

Since 2008 she has taught community, Inova employee and corporate health programs. Laura pioneered the transition to online virtual training classes for Inova Well.  

Laura’s teaching style is engaging, fun, accessible and compassionate. Her program designs are innovative, noncompetitive, holistic and trauma informed. 

She specializes in working with prenatal and postpartum women, menopausal women, seniors, people with disabilities, cancer and heart disease survivors, arthritis sufferers, and people with stress and anxiety, among other conditions.

Jim Economos

Jim Economos

After years in the residential remodeling business, Jim decided to shift his focus to his true passion – health and fitness. An avid runner and triathlete, Jim has competed in 70+ races around the world including all six world marathon majors, the Empire State Building Run-Up, and multiple Ironman events. Jim believes that maintaining one's health and fitness is an essential puzzle piece for longevity, happiness and overall quality of life.

Cindi Shore

Cindi Shore

Cindi has been a personal trainer for more than 20 years. She has worked with mostly seniors, but recently she has been working with men and women of all ages. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education and exercise science from the University of Kansas. She is a 200-hour registered power yoga teacher and Pilates instructor and currently teaches chair yoga at a retirement home.
