Our vascular technologists perform a host of vascular studies (also referenced as exams or tests) in our dedicated vascular laboratory using the most advanced diagnostic equipment available. Many vascular studies use ultrasound imaging technology to measure the blood flow in your blood vessels – specifically, the arteries, which transport blood away from the heart, and veins, which return the blood to the heart. Our board-certified, fellowship-trained vascular surgeons interpret all studies, which can help detect blood clots, artery blockages, and aneurysms, and provide other information that may help diagnose and treat vascular disease.
Preparing for Your Test
Most diagnostic and ultrasound tests take approximately 30-60 minutes. You should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Insurance plans will typically cover the cost at your negotiated rate, but please check with your insurance provider before your appointment to confirm eligibility.
Non-Invasive Diagnostic Tests
Noninvasive exams require no preparation on the patient's part and do not involve tools that break the skin or physically enter the body.
