Holiday hours

With the exception of Inova hospitals and Inova Emergency Care, all Inova outpatient offices will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 25 and Thursday, Jan. 1. 

Some locations, including Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care, have additional changes to their standard hours and can be viewed here. Please contact the location for more information.

What you need to do

Contact your insurance company to ensure they have the correct and complete information

  • Call the number on your insurance card or log in to your
  • Tell them about all other active coverage (plan names, ID numbers, start/end dates)
  • Ask them to update your coordination of benefits record
  • Share updates with your care team at check-in so your claims can be filed correctly
  • Update your COB details with us before your next visit
  • Some insurance plans require patients to complete COB forms, and Medicare requires patients to complete the Medicare secondary payer questionnaire (MSPQ) every 90 days for date of service
  • If you have an Aetna, UHC or Tricare plan and are being seen at Inova, you will be asked to complete an Inova COB form every calendar year or whenever your information changes. Complete your Inova COB form
  • If you have a BCBS, CareFirst, or Anthem BCBS plan and are being seen at Inova, you will be asked to complete a BCBS COB form every calendar year or whenever your information changes. Complete your BCBS COB form
