What are the staffing requirements?

  • The staffing varies by rotation. There isn’t a set staffing schedule; it will depend on the rotation, and there may not be a staffing element for many rotations. There is a week of staffing in December, in addition to project/research time, and midyear.
  • Staffing is typically daytime (sometimes evening), and there may be a weekend need depending on the needs at the time and the requirements of the rotation.

Can I do an inpatient rotation?

Absolutely! Residents can rotate through our hospitals; we focus the rotations on Internal Medicine with emphasis on transitions of care.

There are also opportunities for ED and rehab/short stay.

What are the options for academia and teaching certificate?

Academia is a longitudinal, year long rotation. You will be an integral part of course development and coordination. You will work closely with the faculty and be mentored through the year.

Most residents already have a teaching certificate but if not, we are able to ensure that residents achieve one.

Are you going to ASHP Midyear and participating in PPS?

Yes – We will be at Midyear and participating in PPS. We invite you to submit your CV and potentially have an interview. Our PGY1 programs will participate in the showcase.

What is the format of each rotation?

This residency is a combination of both longitudinal and block-style rotations. Longitudinal rotations generally occur one day per week for half the year (one longitudinal Aug-Dec and the other Jan-Jun). Block rotations make up Monday-Thursday during the week and range from 4 to 6 weeks in length.
