The Heartsaver CPR AED Online course is taught in a blended learning format. Students must complete the online portion, followed by the hands-on skills session. This course provides the highest quality training in the lifesaving skills of CPR and how to use an AED. The course empowers students to act with confidence in the event of an emergency at work, home, or in the community.
Part 1- Online Course – Within 3 business days after registering for this course you will receive an email from elearning.heart.org containing your Heartsaver CPR AED Online access. After successfully completing the online course you will receive a certificate of completion. Please note, you must print and bring a copy of your AHA Heartsaver CPR AED Online certificate of completion with you to the in-person classroom course you have selected. You will NOT be admitted to the in-person class if you do not bring your certificate of completion. We suggest allowing about 1 hour for the online course.
Part 2 - In-Person Classroom Course – After completing the online course described above, you will then attend the pre-scheduled in-person classroom course on the date you registered for. This in-person classroom course will include hands-on practice and skills testing. The structured classroom portion takes 2 hours and requires on-time attendance for the full course. Please note, if you arrive late or leave early you will NOT successfully complete the course.
Requirements to pass this course: Completion of the online course and in person skills testing is required to pass this course.
Card: After course completion criteria are met, a Heartsaver CPR AED card valid for two years will be issued, via email within 3-5 business days after the class date.
